Social Service Professions Bill

E-mail Print

The Social Service Professions Act (No. 110 of 1978) regulates professional practice and establishes the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP). This Act is outdated and will be replaced shortly.

A new draft bill, the Social Service Professions Bill 2008, was published for comment in the Government Gazette in January 2008. The purpose of the new Bill is to “advance social justice by promoting developmental social services”.

Quotes

The NACCW would like to acknowledge the value of the [SA] Child Gauge and extend our sincere appreciation to the Children’s Institute for producing so useful a publication for the children’s sector in South Africa. The quality of the publication is excellent, and the increasingly attractive ‘look’ is very appealing.
